transforming discomfort through
discovery and connection

integrative bodywork that meets you where you are

release tension from the inside out

Inviting clients into deep, engaged presence—using slow myofascial pressure,
humor, breath, and somatic inquiry.

My integrative bodywork practice is a highly engaged, collaborative process. Rather than a passive experience, it involves an ongoing conversation with your body—checking in about sensation, pressure, and how each layer of tissue is responding. With a focus on slow, deep myofascial pressure, the work moves at the pace your body can truly receive. This careful approach allows for deeper levels of release while ensuring the session stays within your capacity, creating the conditions for real and lasting change in the tissue.

What makes my approach unique is the way I help people drop out of their heads and into their bodies. Through humor, somatic inquiry, breathwork, and even moments of shared laughter, clients quickly shift into a state where they can feel more clearly and receive more fully. This lightness amidst intensity helps people find ease—even enjoyment—in the discomfort of deep work. And that experience often extends beyond the table, supporting a more embodied, curious, and resilient way of meeting life outside the session room.

How are massage and bodywork different?

You might be asking why you might choose bodywork rather than a massage?

In my practice, massage and bodywork are distinct ways of working that require different skills, training, and levels of engagement. Massage draws on foundational modalities such as Swedish and Shiatsu, often using oil and flowing strokes to create a deeply relaxing state while easing surface tension and knots.

Bodywork, by contrast, requires additional training and a more refined ability to sense the body at deeper levels. It is a highly interactive process, with ongoing dialogue between client and practitioner, minimal or no oil, and slow, myofascial techniques that apply sustained, intentional pressure. This approach works with the client’s tolerance to release deeper layers of tension, making bodywork a more involved and technically demanding process than massage.

Often we find that clients choose to move towards bodywork sessions after receiving massage.

how it works

what to expect with your bodywork sessions

1. Visit our booking page and select the bodywork type that most fits your needs. If this is your first session, you will be sent intake paperwork to fill out before your first appointment.

2. If its your first treatment, we will do a 90 minute intake appointment, go over your intake form, do a body assessment and scan with 60 minutes of bodywork, and I’ll be asking questions here and there to make sure everything is feeling good. I want you to have a really good session – so let me know if you have any preferences. If somatic coaching is part of the session, it will be incorporated throughout to help further understand you and your life at a deeper level, start to unlock stress and tension while peeling back layers of stuck beliefs, patterning and more.

3. At the end of the session, we’ll discuss my assessment findings and check in about how the session went and goals. We will create a plan for moving forward to meet your specific goals.

Frequently Asked Questions

here are some answers to questions we get asked a lot about our practice

1. Due to our limited appointment openings, we ask for a minimum of 48 business hours (not including the weekend) notice for reschedules or cancellations.

2. This may allow us enough time to fill your practitioner’s opening and allow the booking of another client who may be waiting for an appointment. Please be aware that cancelled appointments that we are unable to fill directly impact your practitioner’s income.

3. Any appointment rescheduled or cancelled within 24 business hours (not including the weekend) of the appointment will be responsible for 100% of the service booked.

4. No shows will be responsible for 100% of the service booked, before another appointment can be scheduled.

If you are experiencing symptoms of contagious sickness such as fever, body aches, uncontrollable cough, etc. or have had a recent COVID diagnosis, please notify your practitioner. Cancellation fees may be waived one time due to these circumstances.

If you are experiencing migraine, grief, or other issue for which you may be hesitant to come to your session, we can assure you that your session will be tailored to fit your needs and body condition on that day and accommodations to body position or techniques can be used to support your greatest health and well being.

My services are not covered by insurance but I do accept HSA’s and FSA’s though I can’t guarantee JYFL will be accepted by these companies.

Yes, session packages are available through my booking platform. Please reach out to me if you do not find what you need.

don't take my word for it

If you’re able to splurge for the 2-hour session, it is absolutely worth it! One hour of intense deep tissue bodywork and then one hour of relaxation. Sim is amazing as always!

- Irene, bodywork

“From start to finish, my first session with Sim was a great experience. Besides the skillful use of his hands to help stretch and open tight areas, his communication is exceptional. He was consistently attentive to what I needed, prompting me for feedback and sharing (as I desired) what he noticed. His signature laughter and joyful approach to bodywork was disarming, and it contributed enormously to me being able to tune into the experience, let go of multiple layers of holding, and leave with a deep calm and sense of well-being. I had zero hesitation when asked if I wanted to reschedule — yes please!”
