What to Bring
A waterbottle, Yoga mat (for stretching, etc), comfy clothes, suggested donation of $5-10 for the space rental and an open heart and mind.
What to Expect
We will circle for a short intro to start, do a warm up and the wave playlist is about 60 minutes. We will circle back up to close. Barefoot is recommended.
What is Estatic Dance?
Dancing where you abandon yourself to the rhythm and move freely as the music takes you. No dance or movement experience necessary. Our group is inspired by many dance forms, namely The 5 Rhythms – a movement practice developed by Gabrielle Roth, to help guide our playlists. The rhythms: flowing, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness help to build up our energy and slowly move us back down – like a Wave.
The Wave is 16 years old and up and is substance free. We want parents to be free from responsibilities while they dance and so we can create a safe container.
If you have never done anything like this before – that’s okay – just come with an open heart and mind. 🙂
